I work from a systemic viewpoint, meaning I recognize that we are all influenced by, and in turn influence, the micro and macro systems in our worlds. Problems that affect our optimal functioning may have a neurochemical origin (such as a propensity for depression or anxiety that can be inherited) and/or environmental causes. It is important to look at the entire system in order to intervene most effectively. I also believe in the value of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) which basically challenges us to change our thinking about ourselves and our environment in order to change our behaviors to improve our functioning.

Generally I meet with clients one time per week for a 50-minute session until we decide that the problem has become less acute and the frequency of sessions can be reduced. Some clients come more than once a week depending on the nature of the difficulty. It all depends, and we can discuss this together and throughout our work together.

I see clients Mondays - Thursdays in the early afternoons and evenings, and Friday afternoons.
